UTAH FAVORITE, STEPHEN BEUS PERFORMS NOVEMBER 11, 2008 AT ROSE WAGNER PERFORMING ARTS CENTERN

The Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation takes great pride in presenting Stephen Beus, the XIV Gold Medalist of the 2006 Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition, in concert at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, Tuesday, November 11, 2008, 7:30 p.m., as the second artist of the “Tuesdays at the Bachauer” Concert Series.

Described by the Fort Worth Star Telegram as a pianist of "artistic instinct and natural charisma," and having a “rock sold technique… with scorching ferocity” by the Int’l Record Review, Stephen Beus is recognized as one of the most promising pianists of his generation. In the space of four months, Mr. Beus won first prize in the 2006 Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition, first place in the Vendome Prize International Competition (Lisbon) and he was awarded the Max I. Allen Fellowship of the American Pianists Association (Indianapolis).

Since his triumphant win in Salt Lake City, Mr. Beus has been eagerly engaged as a brilliant and dynamic artist, performing with orchestras worldwide. http://stephenbeus.homestead.com/shows.html
His 2007-2008 season include appearances in Europe and Asia as well as here in Utah with the Utah Symphony and Salt Lake Symphony and a solo performance in St. George, Utah. He recently presented a solo recital at Brigham Young University, with over 400 patrons being turned away from the sellout concert.

Recently relocated to Provo, Utah, Mr. Beus continues to travel to performances in the world‘s concert halls. The fourth of eight children, Mr. Beus was born and raised in Othello, WA and started lessons at age five. Mr. Beus holds degrees from Whitman College and the Juilliard School where his teachers have included Leonard Richter and Robert McDonald.
