Daynes Music today announced the presentation of Note by Note, the award winning documentary film about the making of a Steinway Model D Concert Grand, #L1037, which was shown at the Broadway Centre Cinemas June 20-26, 2008. Limited quantities of the DVD are available at Daynes Music.
During the opening two nights of the film, Daynes hosted special events at the Broadway Centre Cinema, which included live evening performances on the actual Concert Grand seen in the film, played by Jason Hardink, principal keyboardist for the Utah Symphony, and Song Choi, local talent and contestant in the Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano Competition.
On 6/19, radio station KUER (NPR) interviewed Ben Niles the film's director, and James Barron, New York Times staff writer and author of the acclaimed book, Piano: The Making of a Steinway Concert Grand. The interview also featured Skip Daynes, President of Daynes Music Company, Utah's exclusive Steinway & Sons dealership, and one of the oldest music companies in America. Jason Hardink, who is also a guest on the program, speaks about his experiences as a pianist, and he performs for the radio audience. |
